Wonder Looper was founded by industry veterans Risa Saito and Bazad Trinos of Naked & Famous denim (among other projects). With a focus on knitwear, they produce some of the best cotton knits on the market, manufacturing all of their products entirely in Japan from start to finish. Their pieces are a stellar blend of interesting, unique fabrics and high quality vintage construction details, with excellent fits that lean more true-to-size for Western audiences as well.

Visually, it's a handsome and well-constructed piece of knitwear - but that would honestly be underselling the Fleeced Foxfibre® Hoodie by omitting what makes it special. Let's start with the fit: it's got a classic athletic cut, with a few details that really push it into all-star territory, raglan sleeves, ribbed side panels, flat seam construction, and of course, the fleece interior. It's just the right amount of plush, wearing easily as outerwear but fitting comfortably beneath other garments when the need (or desire) arises.

The fabric is 100% cotton, though both faces of it are quite unique and warrant talking about separately. Starting with the exterior, the body is made from a 345gsm (10.2oz) knit produced using recycled cotton. This recycled fabric was produced using captured "fluff" that is usually lost during the original yarn spinning process, resulting in yarns that are airy, soft, and naturally uneven in texture. The 10.2oz weight is pretty ideal, a comfortable medium-heavy thickness that wears well during a majority of the seasons.

The inside face of the fabric is arguably even more special than the outside, employing a medium-gauge circular knit fleece throughout, maximizing softness, comfort, and insulation. Produced in Wakayama, Japan, the fleece is made from Foxfibre®, an organically grown cotton that is naturally brown and requires no dye to achieve its color. Grown here in the USA before being woven into yarn and then knit up into fleece in Japan, it's an extremely unique cotton that will age beautifully over time, developing a subtle patina with wear.

Just like Wonder Looper's heavyweight hoodies (and probably unlike most other hoodies you've owned), these have a double layer hood with a "lined" interior rather than a wrapped hood, where the fabric's outer face is also what's inside. It's finished with a drawstring on the front, a large kangaroo pocket on the chest, and more ribbing at the cuffs and hem - literally everything you could want in a hoodie.
